Teaching Italian History and Italian as a Foreign Language Within CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning). Some Reflections and Practical Proposals.
Abstract
The article is the development of a paper presented at the Hugvísindaþing of the University of Iceland in the winter of the academic year 2005–2006. After having recalled the main characteristics of Language for Special Purposes in general, the article presents briefly the main features of the language of history. The paper focuses on some problems related to teaching Italian history and Italian as a foreign language in the context of Content and Language Integrated Learning (“CLIL”). The last part of the contribution gives some practical examples taken from the didactical material produced for the course in Italian History taught at the University of Iceland since 2001.Downloads
